Asgent Announces Support for all SMTP E-mail Servers for E-mail Sanitization Solution “Secure Data Sanitization for E-mail”

(President & CEO: Takahiro Sugimoto, located in Chuo-ku, Tokyo, JASDAQ: 4288), a pioneer in network security and operations management solutions, announces that the E-mail sanitization solution “Secure Data Sanitization for E-mail” (SDS for E-mail) now supports all E-mail servers that use SMTP, such as Sendmail, Postfix etc.

SDS is a security solution that sanitizes all incoming files on the premise that there is a possibility that the file may contain malware. Generally, exploits (scripts or programs that utilize vulnerabilities) and malware tend to hide in the metadata, empty bit space and macros within files, so SDS checks these data partitions then sanitizes by removing any data that is unnecessary for the file to run correctly and reconstructing the file. SDS is deployed overseas in government agencies, power plants, aerospace industry and financial institutions, all of which have stringent security requirements.

SDS for E-mail is a sanitization product specialized for sanitizing E-mail attached files. In addition to Office files such as Word and Excel, various other files such as PDFs and image files can also be sanitized. Up until now, the product was limited to Microsoft Exchange, limiting the environments in which it could be deployed. As a result, many potential customers made requests for support of other E-mail servers, and in order to meet these needs, Votiro now supports all SMTP E-mail servers, which will turn allow many more organizations to perform E-mail sanitization.
