Asgent's Security Partner for Connected Cars and IoT Devices Karamba Security Receives Best Practices Award 2017 from Frost & Sullivan

(JASDAQ: 4288, President & CEO: Takahiro Sugimoto, located in Chuo-ku, Tokyo), a pioneer in network security and operations management solutions, announces that Karamba Security, the developer of Autonomous Security products &Carwall& and &IoTwall&, which Asgent is the distributor for, has been awarded a Best Practices Award*1 for new product innovation in the automotive industry.

Awards Karamba Security's solution*2 provides an Autonomous IoT security product to prevent cyber-attacks against connected cars and IoT devices. Security configurations are implanted in the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) during manufacture of IoT devices. As a result, it is possible to prevent attacks without performing signature file updates. Also, the security policy is automatically generated and learns the factory settings to detect and prevent behavior that doesn’t comply with configuration. Therefore, zero-day protection can be provided over the life cycle of the protected product. In addition, this security functionality is not limited only to the automotive industry, but can also be applied architecture controlled by controllers such as IoT, medical devices and drones etc. This highly recognized functionality was behind Karamba Security receiving this award.

Karamba Security recently partnered with Asgent Inc. to introduce its autonomous security technology to the automotive and IoT markets in Japan. Asgent will offer local support for Karamba's autonomous security solutions, and its applications will extend to smart home devices such as security systems, cameras monitoring various rooms, appliances and lighting.

Asgent will continue to promote in collaboration with Karamba Security to automotive makers, as well as automotive peripheral manufacturers and OS providers, and IoT device manufacturers.
