[TU-Automotive Awards]
TU-Automotive Detroit 2017 is a connected car event held in Detroit, Michigan on June 7-8, 2017. The TU-Automotive Awards are comprised of 10 categories, and are given to products and services out of more than 400 nominated offerings that meet the conditions such as being advanced technologies, industry standards or being market driven etc.
Karamba Security was awarded with the "Best Auto Cybersecurity Product/Service of 2017" under the judges' unanimous decision.
In presenting this award, the managing director of TU-Automotive, Gareth Ragg, made the following comment.

Awards

The judges appreciated the Karamba Autonomous Security product because it showed a new and interesting approach. They also highlighted the fact that this product solves a concrete problem at a low cost. Karamba Security was selected for its innovative approach to prevention software that seamlessly protects the car, based on its factory settings, and blocks hacking attempts as they deviate from the car's factory settings. This deterministic approach ensures consumer safety by preventing the attack before hackers succeed to infiltrate the car and do harm. Until Karamba, there were no preventive solutions with zero false positives, and many questioned whether it was even achievable. Now that the industry is aware that prevention is attainable, it is choosing Karamba, and in doing so, enabling safe outcomes.

[Karamba Security]
According to Senior Research Analyst at Navigant Consulting, Sam Abuelsamid, the ratio of connected car is expected to be 15% in 2020, and rising to 70% in 2025, making security evermore important for the automotive driven society.
Karamba Security's solution (*2) is an autonomous IoT security product that prevents cyber-attacks against connected cars. Through implementing security settings in the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) in the manufacturing process, it is possible to prevent attacks without the need for signature updates.
Karamba Security moved from initial investment stealth mode to product provision phase in 2016, and is currently involved on 16 various projects with automotive makers and Tier-1 companies.

Asgent will continue sales proposal activities in collaboration with Karamba Security towards not only automotive makers, but peripheral device makers and OS providers, along with IoT device makers. Also, Asgent and Karamba Security will host, in collaboration with SCSK, the "Connected Car Security Seminar" on July 3, 2017 (Tokyo Station Conference, Free Admission (requires pre-registration)).
