Asgent and AXLBIT Collaborate on Wireless Security Service
- SaaS Edition of the Wireless Security Solution "Coronet" -

Asgent, Inc. (JASDAQ: 4288, President & CEO: Takahiro Sugimoto, located in Chuo-ku, Tokyo) and AXLBIT Inc. (Representative Director &President: Akihiro Hasegawa, located in Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo) jointly announce the start of sales for "Asgent Wireless Security powered by AXLBOX", a wireless security service targeted at the SMB market.

Today, due to the convenience that they provide, public wireless LANs are an essential part of everyday life and business. Implementation at many facilities such as airports, train stations, hotels and eateries is progressing, and the number of public wireless LAN users is expected to rise to 64.18 million people^*1 by 2020 when the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympic Games will held. However, while anyone can easily access public wireless LANs, they have security risks. For example, IDs and passwords can be stolen and used to impersonate other users on the wireless LAN through connections to unencrypted AP (access points). Also, even if wireless communication is protected with SSL/TLS and WPA2, there are cases where APs may have vulnerabilities such as KRACK^*2 or there may be unauthorized APs, so access is not always safe. Therefore, users must users a secure AP. However, it is difficult for users to determine themselves which APs have security issues.

The wireless security solution "Coronet", developed by Coronet and provided by Asgent is a security platform that enables mobile devices to securely use wireless systems. By blocking access to APs that do not clear predefined security levels, and monitoring communication behavior post-access, it is possible to block connections immediately upon an anomaly being detected. On the other hand, "AXLBOX", a service provided by AXLBIT, is a platform that supports full, strategic and effective utilization of corporate IT resources via SaaS. The service is deployed on trusted datacenters and cloud platforms and includes user support, 24/365 infrastructure operations and monitoring etc. so there is little implementation burden on the user, and this service is used by many SMB customers as it can be quickly implemented and deployed.

As part of this collaboration, AXLBIT will add the "Asgent Wireless Security powered by AXLBOX", targeted at the SMB market, to the "AXLBOX" lineup and will provide services including support. Also, Asgent will provide "Coronet" and technical support to AXLBIT.
By using "Asgent Wireless Security powered by AXLBOX", it will be possible for users to safely access the network when on business trips while avoiding APs with security risks that exist in multiple locations such as airports, hotels etc. It is also possible to safely handle data during teleworking out of the office.
The service will start in February 2018, with a monthly list price of 1,000 JPY per person for 100 users^*3 and the initial year target is 50 companies.
