Asgent Announces Release of Next Generation SIP Communication (MoIP) Starter Pack, the "Applico MoIP Videophone Pack"

Asgent,Inc.,(President & CEO: Takahiro (Shuji) Sugimoto, located in Nihonbashi, Chuo-ku, Tokyo), a pioneer in security solutions, announces the release on June 10th, the "Applico MoIP Videophone Pack", a next generation SIP communication (MoIP: Multimedia over Internet Protocol) ※1 starter pack which enables video telephony over the Internet.

The VoIP service market is currently expanding rapidly, with many companies considering the use of VoIP. However, the focus on VoIP is still as a replacement for traditional telephones in order to cut calling costs. In the past ten years, e-mail use has become commonplace, with telephones and e-mail becoming primary communication tools, while in the next ten years high efficiency MoIP communication using SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) will in turn take it's place alongside e-mail and telephones. With this in mind, Asgent announces the release of the "Applico MoIP Videophone Pack", a competitively priced MoIP solution with the goal of increasing awareness and understanding of the convenience that MoIP provides (package price: \368,000).

The "Applico MoIP Videophone Pack" utilizes "Applico MoIP Switch" ※2 technology (Dynamic QoS, NAT traversal etc.) developed by Applico Security, Inc. (Applico Security U.S., President: Arun Kant), a subsidiary company of Asgent. The "Applico MoIP Videophone Pack" enables the simple, inexpensive adoption and use of videophones, simple videoconferencing and MoIP, which allow for productive meetings to be held with remote locations more efficiently while conveying actions and emotions that telephones and e-mail cannot. This type of labor effective communication is not restricted to videophones however, as use of Windows Messenger and specialized client software (to be released soon) enable instant messaging, whiteboard and application sharing between PCs in an Internet environment.

The "Applico MoIP Videophone Pack" contains all the necessary equipment required to use SIP communication services such as videophones, videoconferencing and MoIP, meaning that anyone can use it straight out of the box (the package includes 1 SIP server with 5 SIP user licenses, 1 branch device and 2 SIP videophones). The videophone pack has high scalability, with the option not only to add extra SIP user licenses and SIP telephones, but also to upgrade the branch device to a SIP server in order to achieve high quality voice/video communications and VPN connections between two locations. It is also possible to extend the pack to support a multi-location videoconferencing system (to be released soon). The MSRP (Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price) for the "Applico MoIP Videophone Pack" is \368,000 (tax exclusive), and the sales target for the first year is 1000 sets.
