Asgent, Inc. (President & CEO: Takahiro (Shuji) Sugimoto, located in Nihonbashi, Chuo-ku, Tokyo), a pioneer of security solutions, announces that it will collaborate with Fujitsu, Inc. (President& CEO: Hiroaki Kurokawa, located in Higashishinbashi, Minato-ku, Tokyo) to begin nationwide sales of "M@gicPolicyQUICK".
Dealing with information security problems such as personal information leaks, illegal access, computer viruses etc. is an important issue facing corporate management today. In particular, following the introduction of the Personal Information Protection Act in 2005, many companies have begun implementing security products and formulating security policies.
However, security products only provide sufficient coverage for about 20% (*2) of the necessary security measures outlined in JIS X5080. Also, there is no point in creating security policies that are not linked to day-to-day operations.
Moreover, from a management point of view, the establishment of a PDCA (Plan /Do/Check/Act) cycle that includes problem recognition and resolution instructions from management is necessary for effective security operations.
Fujitsu has been providing information security-related consulting services since 1994, focusing on providing comprehensive measures based on corporate policy as well as specific measures to deal with illegal access etc, which are essential to corporate information security.
However, although information security-related consulting services are an effective solution for the promotion of measures based on corporate policy, the extent to which this solution can meet the needs of the organization is limited by the number of security consultants. However, the demand for security measures is increasing and as a result, Fujitsu had been searching for a way to provide know-how developed through consulting services as a commercial solution to their customers.
Also, in the mid-range market, the time and cost required to implement security measures has become an issue, and there has been a definite need for a low cost rapidly deployed solution.
On the other hand, Asgent has recognized the importance of security policy formulation from it's corporate inception, and has a lot of experience with various training seminars such as "BS7799 Lead Auditor Course", "ISMS Implementation Training Course" etc. At the same time, Asgent has developed the M@gicPolicyQUICK series because of a necessity for a standardized security policy tool based on global guidelines.
M@gicPolicyQUICK is a PDCA tool designed for information security developed to solve prevalent management problems that Asgent has come face to face with in the course of consulting, sales and seminars such as information security and the protection of personal information. Also, Asgent has been searching for a way to provide the M@gicPolicyQUICK services to customers nationwide.
Collaborating with Asgent enables Fujitsu to provide their abundant know-how as a low cost and quickly deployed solution, while for Asgent it creates strengthened sales of M@gicPolicyQUICK for the mid-range market through 15 "Fujitsu Solution Stage" showrooms in Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka, Hokkaido, Kyushu etc.
M@gicPolicyQUICK enables the effective management of the corporate PDCA cycle for information security policy and the resolution of problems related to it. By sending "To Do" lists that include each user's required security-related actions, M@gicPolicyQUICK provides efficient, comprehensive security management throughout the organization. Also, because all results are saved as logs and can be analyzed, management is able to understand the current situation and grasp prevalent problems from reading the analyzed data, as though they were reviewing a financial statement. Implementation of security products which deal with the revealed problems in turn strengthen corporate security and enable customers to further promote security measures.
