Asgent,Inc.
Asgent, Inc. (President & C.E.O.: Takahiro Sugimoto, located in Nihonbashi, Chuo-ku, Tokyo), a pioneer in security solutions, announces the release of M@gicPolicyQUICK Ver. 3.0, an information security PDCA tool.
■ Background
There is an increased awareness of the importance of information security among companies, due to the need to ensure regulatory compliance. Those companies taking a serious approach to security compliance realize that implementing information security measures will prevent losses and will give them an edge over competitors, which is why these companies are starting to implement PDCA management for information security.
On the other hand, many information security administrators have problems managing the PDCA cycle effectively. Therefore, a framework is required to make information security manageable.
<Problems facing information security administrators>
■ Information security PDCA tool, M@gicPolicyQUICK
“M@gicPolicyQUICK”, which Asgent develops and distributes, is an information security PDCA tool that enables the Plan-Do-Check-Act cycle to be operated effectively on a company-wide scale. By sending each user operation checklist items that they need to perform, it becomes possible to perform self-audits across the entire organization. In turn, the entire company becomes more conscious of information security, which becomes makes it easier to manage.
■ The concept behind V3.0
More than 100 new and enhanced features have been included in the upgrade from Ver.2.03 to Ver.3.0, which is founded on three main concepts: “Support for Enterprises”, “Automation/Laborsaving” and “Reduction of Deployment Costs”.
With regards to support for enterprises in particular, by improving functionality with the addition of a function to import security documents and a function to display security documents by department etc., it is possible for companies that currently store said security documents to utilize them to manage information security.
Also, by providing automated and laborsaving measures for various actions such as configuring automatic (noncompliant item*) determination rules and amendment patterns for noncompliant items that require improvement (security items not managed by the department as a whole), M@gicPolicyQUICK is easily installed and managed by the administrator.
Moreover, in order to reduce installation costs, PostgreSQL comes bundled with the product, reducing the outlay required for database implementation.
Asgent will begin shipping of the “M@gicPolicyQUICK Ver.3.0” PostgreSQL version from July 3rd, and the MS-SQL version from August. Asgent will continue to upgrade the product, reflecting customers’ opinions whenever possible.
*”Noncompliant items” are items that are not managed correctly and require improvement.
