Asgent Announces the Release of ShadowProtect Small Business Server Edition

(President & CEO: Takahiro Sugimoto, located in Nihonbashi, Chuo-ku, Tokyo), a pioneer in security solutions, announces the release of “ShadowProtect Small Business Server Edition Ver.3.3” (SBS Edition), part of the popular “ShadowProtect” lineup of image-based system backup software developed by StorageCraft Technology Corporation (USA).

In the same way that IT systems play a pivotal role within business today, so the ability to back up constantly expanding systems quickly and reliably, while being able to restore them to operational status just as quickly in the case of a disaster is an important challenge facing organizations, SOHO and small businesses.

ShadowProtect is an image-based backup software solution that creates a backup of the entire system, including the OS, applications, data etc. The image backup engine transfers and saves disk data in the original bit-string format rather than as individual files, so it is possible to recover a system quickly and reliably simply by restoring the disk to its original state. Using the same method, it is also possible to restore a system to different hardware models, virtual environments, from a physical server to a virtual server (P2V) and between virtual servers (V2V), as well as from a virtual server to a physical server (V2P).

The SBS Edition is a backup solution aimed at small businesses using the Windows Small Business Server operating system, and includes all the functionality that a server administrator requires, such as continuous backup image creation without the need for machine shutdown, backup recovery to systems with differing configurations, backup scheduling etc. It is also ideal for SOHO and small businesses who want to deploy a reliable backup solution for file servers or business application servers, without the large expense required for traditional solutions.

In coordination with the release of the SBS Edition, Asgent also announces that a 30 day ShadowProtect evaluation version (some limited functionality) can now be requested from the Asgent homepage.
