Asgent Announces Start of Online Sales for Image Backup Software “ShadowProtect”

Asgent, Inc. (President & CEO: Takahiro Sugimoto, located in Nihonbashi, Chuo-ku, Tokyo), a pioneer in security solutions, announces the start of online sales for “ShadowProtect Desktop Edition”, part of the popular “ShadowProtect” lineup of image-based system backup software developed by StorageCraft Technology Corporation (USA), along with extensions to the product lineup.

In the same way that IT systems play a pivotal role within business today, so the ability to back up constantly expanding systems quickly and reliably, while being able to restore them to operational status just as quickly in the case of a disaster is an important challenge facing organizations.

ShadowProtect is an image-based backup software solution that creates a backup of the entire system, including the OS, applications, data etc. The image backup engine transfers and saves disk data in the original bit-string format rather than as individual files, so it is possible to recover a system quickly and reliably simply by restoring the disk to its original state.

In order to broaden the business scope of ShadowProtect, Asgent announces a revamp of the product lineup, providing new a download license, limited term license and academic license. Also, existing license prices will be reduced by approximately 50%, making the product even more attractive to a wider range of customers.

(1) Download License

A download license for ShadowProtect Desktop Edition is now available, enabling both corporate and individual users the opportunity to use this award winning product. This is also the lowest priced license in the ShadowProtect lineup, because it does not include a program CD media package or after sales support.
The downloadable Desktop Edition can be purchased from the Vector online sales site. Also, a commemorative start of sales campaign is running until the end of September.

(2) Limited Term License

A special 3-month limited term license version of the annual “IT Edition” license is now available for the Japanese market to meet the needs of users such as SI engineers who require a limited time license for server migration, use in paid services etc.

(3) Academic License

The academic license is provided specifically for schools, research institutes, government / public organizations and Non Profit Organizations (NPO). The license pricing is 20-25% lower than standard corporate pricing.
