Asgent, Inc. (President & CEO: Takahiro Sugimoto, located in Nihonbashi, Chuo-ku, Tokyo), a pioneer in network security and operations management solutions, today announces the signing of a cooperation agreement with M.Tech Product (Located in Singapore), which has operations in many Asian countries including China, Malaysia and Australia, to jointly sell, support and provide integration services for Blue Coat products Asia-wide to better serve the needs of global corporations with branch offices, factories etc. situated across Asia.


【Background】

As a result of the globalization of corporate business, it is increasingly common for Japanese companies to move into foreign markets, and for foreign companies to set up in Japan. To take manufacturing as an example, there are many cases where companies create branch offices and factories in Asian countries in order to cut costs and economize. Decisions regarding the network architecture including IT equipment procurement, integration and maintenance support are made within the headquarters of these global companies, but in many cases the actual procurement, integration and support is relegated to the local organizations in order to cut costs, resulting in a situation whereby headquarters are unable to manage the provision of optimized procurement and uniform service levels.


【Cooperation with M.Tech Asia-wide】

With this background in mind, Asgent will develop a structure with M.Tech, with bases Asia-wide, to jointly sell, integrate and support Blue Coat products to major Asian countries including Japan. M.Tech has headquarters in Singapore and bases in 10 countries throughout the Asia Pacific region, and is a distributor for Check Point, Blue Coat and RSA products. They have the No.1 sales for Check Point and Blue Coat products in the Southeast Asian region, and are a solution provider focused on security solution sales, which is one of the primary factors behind the cooperation agreement.
In the future, Asgent will provide equipment procurement, maintenance and integration services to M.Tech’s customers in the Japan market, and will jointly provide solutions to Japanese customers who require equipment procurement, maintenance or integration services in Asian countries, at the level of quality to which they are accustomed. In this way, both Asgent and M.Tech customers will be able to receive equipment procurement, integration and maintenance services locally with the least outlay. Also, in cases where corporate headquarters perform purchasing of equipment to be used in different countries (for example, the headquarters of a Japanese companies purchases equipment to be used in several Asian countries), it is possible for either Asgent or M.Tech to make the bulk procurement locally, reducing transport costs for the customer.
Asgent and M.Tech also plan to expand cooperation to products outside Blue Coat in the future.
