Asgent Announces Addition of Next Generation Firewall FUJITSU Network IPCOM EX SC Series to Managed Security Service Lineup
February 20, 2014
Asgent, Inc.
(JASDAQ:4288)
Asgent, Inc. (President & CEO: Takahiro Sugimoto, located in Chuo-ku, Tokyo), a pioneer in network security and operations management solutions, announces the official addition of the next generation firewall “FUJITSU Network IPCOM EX SC Series” (IPCOM EX) from FUJITSU LIMITED (FUJITSU) to the product lineup for the “SecurityPlus Managed Security Service” operated by Asgent.
The FUJITSU “IPCOM EX” is an integrated security solution (UTM), comprising stateful inspection and application level filtering, anomaly and signature based IPS, signature based Antivirus and Web content filtering etc.
The recent and current spate of cyber-attacks on government offices and corporations are becoming highly refined and it is no longer possible for commonly installed so called “firewalls” alone to protect organizations from such attacks. The functionality provided by “IPCOM EX”, such as IPS, Antivirus and Web content filtering, has received high praise from the market in general, and this product has been deployed by many companies, not to mention a wide range of government offices and local governments.
From March 2013, Asgent has provided the “SecurityPlus Managed Security Service” to many companies and public offices with the goal of providing security knowhow and supporting these organizations’ security operations and monitoring so the customer can focus on their business at hand. At this point in time, to meet the further needs of the market, “IPCOM EX” has been added to the monitored device lineup.
Through utilizing this service, “IPCOM EX” users who do not have advanced security administrators can receive both 24/365 monitoring support from dedicated Asgent professional security analysts as well as the latest cyber-security information and operational knowhow backed by vast experience, as a service.
When suspicious access or activity is detected, dedicated analysts will correlate and analyze the logs produced by the “IPCOM EX” IPS and firewall etc. in order to provide reports and immediate countermeasures to the customer’s manager in charge. Also, periodical security diagnostic checkups allow for the analyst to both check the validity of the operational status and provide measures and advice to prevent cyber-attacks before they occur.
The service fee starts at \74,000/month. Sales target for the first year is \150 million.
【SecurityPlus Managed Security Service】
This service consists of 24/365 monitoring of end user security devices by Asgent monitoring center analysts, and proposals for necessary security measures along with correlated analysis and event reports in case a security incident is detected.
The monitored device is configured with the end users’ environment in mind, based on both security and performance factors that are obtained beforehand from hearing sheets. In addition, the end user’s security condition is periodically diagnosed and a report with recommended security measures is provided. By implementing these services, the end user can perform their security operations as though there were a specialized security administrator in place within the organization.
