Asgent Announces “SecurityPlus Website Protection”, a New SaaS Service to Protect Corporate Websites from Cyber Security Attacks
August 26, 2014
Asgent, Inc.
(JASDAQ: 4288)
Asgent, Inc. (President & CEO: Takahiro Sugimoto, located in Chuo-ku, Tokyo), a pioneer in network security and operations management solutions, announces the start from September 1st of “SecurityPlus Website Protection Service”, a cloud service to protect websites from damage caused by rampant DDoS attacks and website defacement attacks.
Today’s corporate websites are constantly being barraged by ever more varied and complex cyber security attacks such as DDoS attacks and SQL Injections, Cross Site Scripting, DNS attacks, not to mention website content defacement and illegal retrieval of information from websites. Also, in cases where a website comes under fire, there is not only the risk of attacks affecting corporate activities through the corporation losing hard won social credibility, but also the possibility that the company could become an unwilling player in attacks on customers or other parties the company has dealings with, as well as parties completely unrelated to the company.
To protect websites from these cyber security threats, WAFs (Web Application Firewalls) are commonly utilized. However, in order to maximize the effectiveness of these solutions against ever evolving complex attack methods, it is necessary to maintain an operations structure that can deal with the latest security trends. This has traditionally been the pain point for regular companies without cyber security specialists on hand.
Asgent’s “SecurityPlus Website Protection Service” provides those WAF functions in an easily deployed cloud/SaaS formation. This service enables companies to deploy WAF functionality in the corporate network without the need for large-scale system configuration changes or service outages.
The WAF functionality that forms the core of this service is provided by the SaaS-style cloud WAF service “Incapsula”, which is provided by IMPERVA, a highly reputed company and leading vendor in the WAF market. The Incapsula platform is constantly updated and optimized to handle the latest global cyber security trends, meaning that users are able to gain the benefits of this platform without the need to perform complicated configurations or policy settings.
Based on this service, Asgent will provide deployment support as well as 24/7 post-deployment incident monitoring, blacklist management operation support, monthly reports and information on the latest security trends, supporting customers throughout each phase of deployment and day-to-day operations.
Service fees start from 98,000 Yen/month. Asgent is expecting 150 Million Yen in sales in the first year.
