Connected Car and IoT Device Focused Security Solution, Karamba XGuard, Provides Self Protection Functionality with Support for Xilinx Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC

March 16, 2020
Asgent, Inc.
(JASDAQ: 4288)

Asgent, Inc. (JASDAQ: 4288, President & CEO: Takahiro Sugimoto, located in Chuo-ku, Tokyo), a pioneer in network security, announces that Karamba Security (CEO & Co-founder: Ami Dotan, located in Israel) XGuard, now supports the heterogeneous multi-processor SoC “Zynq® UltraScale+™ MPSoC” from Xilinx, Inc. (President & CEO: Victor Peng, located in California).
By doing so, Xilinx customers developing or executing applications on the Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC can use XGuard to provide support for self-protection from cyber-attacks without the need to change the research and development process.

[IoT Security]
Many types of things are being connected to the internet, including office equipment such as copiers, medical devices such as electronic chart systems and factory sensors, not to mention automobiles, home electronics and security cameras. While being connected to the internet increases convenience, security measures are also important factors. Being connected to the internet means that the device is a target for hackers to attack. Also, compared with IT devices, IoT devices have longer lifecycles, which require continued measures to maintain safety. This is why XGuard is gaining attention for being able to maintain security without the need for continuous updates.

[Karamba XGuard]
XGuard is an autonomous security product that prevents cyber-attacks on connected card and IoT edge devices. The integrity of applications that run internally in devices designed and developed by manufacturing vendors is automatically validated constantly in operation. Any attempt to exploit vulnerabilities are detected and blocked as being illegal operations. Also, by saving and uploading detailed logs for all security events, further analysis can be performed. Karamba’s products can automatically prevents exploits of vulnerabilities, but saving the logs can prove vital for the client to understand where in the system the vulnerability lies.
By integrating XGuard into the build environment, applications are self-protected from attacks. This allows Xilinx customers to protect their embedded vision applications without changing the research and development process or changing best practices which may delay time to market.

[Comments]
Karamba co-founder and CEO, Ami Dotan, made the following comment. “Xilinx is the world leading provider of adaptable embedded devices, and we see their technology being used globally by our customer base.
