(JASDAQ: 4288)

awards   Asgent, Inc. (JASDAQ: 4288, President & CEO: Takahiro Sugimoto, located in Chuo-ku, Tokyo), a pioneer in network security, announces that the anti-phishing email solution “IRONSCALES” distributed by Asgent has been awarded by Cyber Defense Magazine and Info Security Products Guide.

[Importance of Anti-Phishing Email Measures]
Damage from phishing emails including “Business Email Compromise (BEC)”, in which an attacker poses as a business contact or corporate management in email to convince them to transfer funds is growing rapidly. In the “Top 10 Info Security Threats of 2020” 1 published by IPA, the top threat to organizational security is “leakage of confidential information by targeted attack”, and so-called phishing email in which users “click on a link or open an attachment” is given as an attack method. Also, the number 3 threat is “financial damage by business email compromise”. In addition, in a report from the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the global impact of BEC worldwide from June 2016 to July 2019 surpassed 26 billion USD2.
Sophisticated phishing emails cannot be detected by antispam products even in large organizations considered to be implementing security measures, and will slip past these defenses and reach the hands of employees. Because the content of the emails is customized to suit the individuals’ situation, it is difficult for the recipient to detect just by paying attention, and the phishing email along with risk remain in the employees’ mailbox without anyone noticing. In addition, there is a large difference in security awareness between individuals, and so when phishing emails reach multiple people in the organization, even if someone reports them to the administrator, it is difficult and time consuming to definitely delete similar phishing emails from all mailboxes. This is why SOAR tools that automate incident detection through analysis and response are being demanded.

[IRONSCALES]
IRONSCALES is a SOAR tool that uniformly detects, analyzes and provides response to phishing emails. Using machine learning, it provides not only the ability to detect impersonated emails that are advanced according to the individual, but has functionality to share phishing email information internally and quarantine them from mailboxes, making phishing email security simple and seamless for both security administrators and employees (mail recipients). Also, there is a mobile application for iOS and Android, making it possible for the security administrator to access the IRONSCALES dashboard (management screen) when out of the office and handle attacks with one click, reducing the amount of time required to respond to phishing email incidents.
