Asgent, Inc.
(JASDAQ: 4288)
Karamba Security (CEO & Co-founder: Ami Dotan Location: Israel) sold by Asgent, Inc., which mainly provides security and SOC services (Location: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; C.E.O.: Takahiro Sugimoto, JASDAQ:4288; hereafter, Asgent) entered into an agreement on licensing XGuard Protect with Hitachi Kokusai Electric Inc. (President & CEO: Kaichiro Sakuma, Tokyo) in order to strengthen IoT device security.
Implementation of XGuard Protect, an embedded runtime integrity, into Hitachi Kokusai Electric’s IoT products’ system enables to develop IoT devices working at a stronger security level, preventing malware from activating malicious files and scripts. Hitachi Kokusai Electric is planning to first implement XGuard Protect into high-end models among their IoT products and will then conduct further development of IoT equipment with a view of expanding into other models.
Part of Karamba’s Total IoT Security, the company’s comprehensive IoT security solution that won the Grand Prix in the Best of Show Award Security category of Interop Tokyo 2021 exhibition, XGuard Protect provides integration of security functions into IoT devices’ software. Its main features include:
・ Embedded Runtime Integrity that automatically enhances connected system security
・ Protection against a variety of attacks, including file and script droppers, as well as fileless attacks that exploit memory vulnerabilities such as buffer overflow
・ Control Flow Integrity (CFI) and Application Whitelist to protect against attacks that exploit zero-day, N-day, and other vulnerabilities, preventing false positives
Ami Dotan, co-founder and CEO of Karamba says: “It is an honor that Hitachi Kokusai Electric chose Karamba Security's XGuard Protect to strengthen the security of their IoT devices.
