“Vicarius VRX” Wins the Best of Show Award Runner-Up at Interop Tokyo 2025 for the Solution of Proactive Vulnerability Mitigation

The event took place from June 11-13, 2025, at Makuhari Messe.

Interop Tokyo, Japan largest internet technology event, has been held annually since 1994. The prestigious Best of Show Award recognizes “this year’s top picks” from a selection of new products entered by exhibiting companies. A judging panel comprising key figures from leading media outlets and academic experts evaluates nearly 300 entries, with finalist proceeding to a final review session to determine the winners.

The judges highly commended Vicarius VRX for its multifaceted approach to protecting server environments, particularly its ability to safeguard against vulnerabilities even when official patches are not available. There is a significant demand for products that can avoid vulnerability risks in environments like CentOS, which has reached end-of-life (EoL) and urgently needs vulnerability protection.
Given the rapid changes in open source and other software lifecycles, we anticipate more detailed information on the specific environments Vicarius VRX can protect, including its support of EoL products. Vicarius VRX is a CTER solution that efficiently detects vulnerabilities in the systems in near real-time and manages the subsequent remediation process. It does not solely rely on CVSS scores^※1. Instead, Vicarius VRX gathers and analyzes information from multiple sources, including the actual severity of vulnerabilities within the system, up-to-date threat databases, Exploit Database and other diverse intelligence feeds. To address this challenge, Vicarius VRX provides remediation scripts and automatically applies them after user approval. Furthermore, in environments where immediate patch or script application is not feasible-such as system that cannot be interrupted- Vicarius VRX implements virtual patching as a provisional measure. The Vicarius VRX agent, installed on the device, continuously monitors the memory space of designated applications and enforces access control.
